Andhra Pradesh Company Registration Trend: FY 2016–17 Onwards

In short

Andhra Pradesh Company registrations from FY 2016–17 onward, national share, FY 2025–26 comparison and April–September 2026 figures. Companies only; LLPs excluded.

Website calculation period: Financial-year research starts on 1 April 2016 (FY 2016–17). January–March 2016 is excluded from website research calculations. Each full financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March. FY 2021–22 has three missing source months; FY 2026–27 covers April–September 2026 only. Missing months are not estimated.

Company-only figures: This research includes Private Limited Companies, One Person Companies (OPCs), Public Companies and other Companies recorded in the Companies sheets. LLPs are not included. State-wise analysis cannot be derived from LLPINs because they do not contain a state code. LLP location analysis requires separately verified address or State fields. Foreign Companies are also excluded.

Andhra Pradesh recorded 6,418 identified Company registrations in FY 2025–26, representing (2.59%) of all dated Company records nationally for that year. This profile follows the available financial-year series from 1 April 2016 onward.

FY 2026–27

Period qualifications: Financial years run from 1 April to 31 March. FY 2021–22 contains only nine available source months: November 2021, January 2022 and March 2022 are missing. FY 2026–27 covers 1 April to 30 September 2026 only. Missing months have not been estimated.

National share uses all dated Company records for the same period, including records with an unassigned state. A zero means no matching record was identified in the available master; it is not independent proof that no Company was registered in that jurisdiction.

Latest complete financial year: FY 2025–26

On the directory’s FY 2025–26 ordering, Andhra Pradesh appears at position 14 of 36 states and union territories. Counts are ordered from highest to lowest, with alphabetical ordering for ties. This position is a comparison of registration volume rather than business success or policy performance.

The count was 4,203 in FY 2024–25 and 6,418 in FY 2025–26. That is a rise of 2,215 Companies (52.70%). Both years contain twelve available source months. Low absolute counts can produce large percentage changes, so read the count alongside the rate.

How the longer-term position has changed

FY 2016–17 recorded 2,332 Companies and FY 2025–26 recorded 6,418. The change is an increase of (175.21%). National share moved from (2.38%) to (2.59%).

Among the complete financial years shown, the highest identified count was 6,418 in FY 2025–26. The incomplete FY 2021–22 and six-month FY 2026–27 periods are excluded from that comparison.

FY 2026–27: first six months

For practical preparation, read registered-office address guidance, the recurring cost of running a Company and Company Registration in India by City. For the filing steps, use the Company Registration guide, Limited Liability Partnership Registration guide or One Person Company Registration guide. Compare PVT LTD, LLP and OPC before choosing.

The same Company-only scope applies throughout this profile. Private Companies, OPCs and Public Companies are included; LLPs are excluded.

The largest recorded group was IT, Software, Information and Communication, with 926 Companies (25.82%) of the state/UT total for this period.

Method: Deduplicated MCA Companies master, both Companies sheets; registration dates allocate financial years and validated CIN jurisdiction codes assign states/UTs. Percentages use all dated Companies assigned to that state/UT in the same period, including Other / Unclassified. Explicit activity codes are used where available, otherwise the CIN industry code is used. Legacy and newer activity divisions are mapped to common broad groups using each source workbook’s reporting period (newer Company classification from February 2023). Broad groups support comparison; they do not identify every specific service such as AI or digital marketing. These two tables use periods after the classification change. Unassigned locations are excluded rather than guessed. Figures checked on 19 October 2026.

For the longer financial-year registration history and location limitations, read the Andhra Pradesh state/UT profile. Compare the national business activity research.

What readers and first-time founders can learn

The series shows registration volume and its share of national records. A rising count can coexist with a falling share when other locations collectively grow faster. A larger count does not establish higher revenue, investment, employment or survival. Comparing entrepreneurial intensity also requires suitable population or economic-size denominators.

Registration jurisdiction does not locate every office, factory, employee or customer. These state-level figures do not provide verified city or district counts. National activity rankings should not be presented as this state’s leading sectors without a separate state-by-activity analysis.

For a first-time founder, legal structure should follow ownership, funding, operations and recurring compliance needs. A popular registration location or structure is not sufficient reason to choose it. Read the recurring cost of running a Company and registered-office considerations.

Source, coverage and jurisdiction notes

Source: Ministry of Corporate Affairs monthly incorporation workbooks in the deduplicated CompanysRegistration.com master covering January 2016–September 2026. Both Companies sheets are analysed together. Usable registration dates allocate records to financial years; valid CINs allocate records to jurisdictions. Missing or invalid CINs remain unassigned. State counts can omit unresolved records, and undated rows cannot be assigned to a financial year. Figures describe records available in this master, rather than a separate verification of every state registry. Analysis date: 18 October 2026.

Jurisdiction treatment: Historical Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu labels are combined under the current union-territory name for this directory and its profiles. Other figures follow the jurisdiction identifiable from the supplied CIN; historical records have not been reassigned to present-day boundaries. In particular, the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh series must not be read as boundary-consistent district statistics across the full period.

Known missing source months are explicitly disclosed. The LLP exclusion applies to every table and calculation in this profile. Read how valid CINs are mapped and how unavailable state records are handled.
