Registration Trend
Company, LLP and OPC registrations in India by financial year and by month since 2016, based on incorporation data published by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
State-wise Company Registration Trend
Website calculation period: Financial-year research starts on 1 April 2016 (FY 2016–17). January–March 2016 is excluded from website research calculations. Each full financial year runs from 1 April to 31 March. FY 2021–22 has three missing source months; FY 2026–27 covers April–September 2026 only. Missing months are not estimated.
Company-only figures: This research includes Private Limited Companies, One Person Companies (OPCs), Public Companies and other Companies recorded in the Companies sheets. LLPs are not included. State-wise analysis cannot be derived from LLPINs because they do not contain a state code. LLP location analysis requires separately verified address or State fields. Foreign Companies are also excluded.
Choose a state or union territory to read its Company registration profile from FY 2016–17 onward. The directory is ranked by FY 2025–26 (1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026), the latest complete financial year available in the master. It is not ranked by cumulative registrations or by the partial FY 2026–27 period.

Ties use alphabetical order. Zero means no matching record identified in this master, not proof of no registrations in that jurisdiction.
From registration research to choosing your business structure
These profiles describe Companies registered in each state/UT. To plan your own business, use the Company Registration process, LLP Registration guide, OPC Registration guide and GST Registration process. The city and local-area directory includes metro and non-metro locations throughout India.
How to use the profiles
Every profile contains an annual table, national shares, matching-period interpretation and links to the national financial-year reports. Use the directory to compare registration volume, then examine activity, population and economic size separately before drawing conclusions about a state’s business environment.
Period qualifications: Financial years run from 1 April to 31 March. FY 2021–22 contains only nine available source months: November 2021, January 2022 and March 2022 are missing. FY 2026–27 covers 1 April to 30 September 2026 only. Missing months have not been estimated.
Company-only scope and geography
Jurisdiction treatment: Historical Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu labels are combined under the current union-territory name for this directory and its profiles. Other figures follow the jurisdiction identifiable from the supplied CIN; historical records have not been reassigned to present-day boundaries. In particular, the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh series must not be read as boundary-consistent district statistics across the full period.
These are registration-jurisdiction figures derived from valid CINs. They do not locate every business operation or provide a measure of success. LLPINs cannot supply the same state classification, so LLPs are excluded throughout this State-wise section.

Find cities within each state profile
Each state/UT profile includes representative cities, towns, local areas or island centres. Published city guides are linked from those names where available. For example, the Maharashtra profile includes Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) and Nashik; Gujarat includes Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot.
These place names add context, not city-wise statistics. The ranking and registration figures remain at state/UT level and exclude LLPs. You can also browse the existing city registration guides.
Source and coverage
Source: Ministry of Corporate Affairs monthly incorporation workbooks in the deduplicated CompanysRegistration.com master covering January 2016–September 2026. Both Companies sheets are analysed together. Usable registration dates allocate records to financial years; valid CINs allocate records to jurisdictions. Missing or invalid CINs remain unassigned. State counts can omit unresolved records, and undated rows cannot be assigned to a financial year. Figures describe records available in this master, rather than a separate verification of every state registry. Analysis date: 18 October 2026.
